NCAIP in collaboration with the Bureau of Land Management have teamed up to get Winship Middle School students into a local forest to study printmaking, salamanders, habitat and invasive species.
A Winship student places salamander board in the forest as BLM scientist looks on.
An Ensatina eschscholtzii salamander is found and will be weighed and measured.
Initial data show a correlation between location and number/ type of salamanders found.
