DIGITAL ART
Joseph Wilhelm
I am a documentary photographer with a foundation in medium format film and a Master of Arts degree in Art.
By the late 90’s, I had become an early adopter of digital technology with professional experience that includes
consulting and collaboration in addition to catalog and magazine photography ranging from jewelry to outdoor
apparel (Holly Yashi Jewelry, Tomas Jewelry, Kokatat Water Sports, Bead Unique Magazine).
My studio was the first in Humboldt County to provide commercial digital photograhy services, however, current
concentration is less commercial with a client base mostly focused on the fine arts. I provide digital media services
for electronic delivery as well as commercial and fine art printing. My business name is Meridian Fine Art.
I also continue to work as an independent photograher with a primary focus on the cultural landscape and
people’s interaction with the environment. I am currently working on a project centered on the Arcata Bay and
Bottom. This project will be the featured exhibit at Piante Gallery in Old Town Eureka, September 2017.
I live and work near the town of Blue Lake and share a 120 year old country cottage with my spouse (a middle
school teacher) and child (a student at Redwood Coast Montessori). We garden, raise chickens, and enjoy life on
the North Coast.
