Here are more of the images students explore throughout the year through Visual Thinking Strategies.  Students view a variety of visual art and participate in group discussions about what they notice and wonder.  

Here are some fun faces  students made while exploring emotions in primary and secondary colors.

Collaborative Art Project:  Learning how to work together while making beautiful art!

While learning about various climates, students explored creating a vacation rental in the Arctic.  I love it when students write about their art try to convince me to stay there!  

Adaptations for Survival:  Students sculpted birds that were adapted to "imaginary" environments.

Students used water color resist on the background and then wrote about themselves demonstrating Benefit Mindset.

Students put a lot of effort into their figurative language sentences when they knew they could draw it.  

Here, students demonstrated their knowledge about fractions and lines (parallel, perpendicular, and intersecting).  Cool!
