How to Collaborate posters (6 steps for any collaboration)

Collaborative Art Lessons

At the beginning of the year, students should learn how to work well as a group as well as learning the building blocks of visual art AKA the "Elements".   These lessons, at different grade levels, teach students how to contribute ideas for the group as well as how to compromise.  The groups use line, shape, color, texture, value and space to make a group artwork.  

Grade K-2

Students make decisions on paper & pen color, draw lines which become shapes and then color textures collaboratively.

Grade 3

Students use pre-made circles, rectangles or triangles to fill the space, explore color, value, texture and shapes.

Grade 4

Students make their own templates of geometric or organic shapes to fill space, explore color, value, texture.

Grade 5

Students use painter's tape to divide the space into geometric shapes which are then filled with color, value, and texture.
