How to Collaborate posters (6 steps for any collaboration)
Collaborative Art LessonsAt the beginning of the year, students should learn how to work well as a group as well as learning the building blocks of visual art AKA the "Elements". These three lessons teach students how to contribute ideas for the group as well as how to compromise. The groups use line, shape, color, texture, value and space to make a group artwork. Optionally, they can make their flat artwork into a three dimensional form to explore the seventh element of visual art.

Grade K-2Students make decisions on paper & pen color, draw lines which become shapes and then color textures collaboratively.
Grade 3Students use pre-made templates of circle, rectangle or triangle to fill the space, explore color, value, texture and shapes.
Grade 4Students make their own group templates of geometric or organic shapes to fill the space, explore color, value, texture and shapes.
Grade 5Students use painter's tape to divide the space into geometric shapes which are then filled with color, value, and texture.
