Droop Capone Hip Hop Residency 2019
In Spring 2019, Droop Capone (dr. Oop for short) did a teaching artist residency as part of the North Coast Arts Integration Project at both Trinity Valley Elementary and Hoopa Elementary with 7th and 8th graders.
He worked with students to create an original collaborative hip hop song. Students then travelled to the MARZ Project studio in Eureka to record the songs with sound engineer Cory Goldman, which were then professionally mixed by Piet Dalmolen. MARZ Project videographer Jay Tilghman then travelled along with two assistants to shoot a music video onsite with the students, featuring the choreography of Dionná Fletcher.
Thank you to teachers Alexandra Gless, Maggie Peters, Sammy Quezada, and Yuko Wenzel for making this project a reality for their students!
